Upon the caring sea i see,
A vision of a time long past, yet still to come
My pocket love, 
My private joy,
O ruiner of life's true gift

For you, my love, the world's great treasures
For you, my love, the gift returned
With you, my love, I can never be
yet you can never leave my side

Within my mind, you will always stay
Your heart will always be mine
Yet it can never be true love
for such human weakness will never be in my mind

While you are there, no-one can cure my lonely heart
To you, they are measured 
and frailties are found
to force them far away

you chain my heart and lock the door
so i may never find
that greatest gift, one can share
a love so true and blind

Please tell me why
Oh cruel Angel of joy
Why won't you leave mine eyes
Leave me, my love, to find someone
that will display that hint of error
I'll forever search for in vain

My sickly mind, can not give true
reason for this deathly illness
you give to me, false one
So forever my heart will be still,
yet beat for you so strong
