Aya & Michi - Fatal Frame
|
Another Sketch which I may or may not do much with.. probebly not but I enjoyed doing it.
Let's explain it.. This is Aya and Michi from 'Fatal Frame: A Curse only Affecting Girls', AKA 'Gekijōban Rei ~Zero~' (quick recap: Fatal Frame is the USA Name for 'Zero', series of Video games, which was understood and called 'Project Zero' in European and Australian areas (named after the team that made the game).
Now.. In 2014 a second novel (the first being an... interesting take on the first game) was made partly to promo the 5 main game in the series, and it was turned into a TV movie around the same time. I think the TV movie is pretty good but I do have some comments that would make it better... the Novel was fan-translated (and while the guy did great work... My copy is even better cause he made a number of mistakes with spelling, wrong names, and some odd issues.. and I fixed them for my private copy) and is even better. Some of the problems with the TV movie (which is only about 2 hours) are SOO much better or completely fixed in the novel, though there are some bits which could be a bit better...
Anyway.. This is a drawing of the characters of Aya and Michi from the novel.. NOT from the TV movie. In the TV movie, Ayami Nakajô played Aya and Aoi Morikawa played Michi. Apart from story changes (which are fair enough) the main changes was Aya was meant to have a very important to her white Camellia Hair ornament, which was a special exception to the school rules about no Jewellery (and how important it was she didn't know and you find out at the end), which is NOT in the film at all, and Michi wore an eye patch over one eye. Which eye changed depending on when he period came (long story... ask in the comments if you want to hear).. this was also removed from the movie version.
This picture is meant to be the scene at the near the end of chapter Five which IS mostly in the film, where Aya and Michi are flipping through the Ophellia Album (major plot item) in Aya's room, before being attacked by other girls in the school.
Annoying, I think the Original novel has illustrations.. I can't get a copy of the original Japanese novel and the translation is missing these.. It is also a .. mm.. teen novel? I would say that, so my copy comes to about 140 odd pages, so not very long so not alot of time is spent describing characters looks. Aya's hair being long and stuff is said. Michi's hair not at all.. So I didn't want to greatly base on the Movie version and be more book version but It would be stupid to say I wasn't influence in a bit when filling in details. It made sense that Michi had short hair and this style isn't like the movie, but she does have short hair in that too.
