Pris Stratton - Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

A quick drawing (and inking and colouring) of Pris Stratton from the Phillip K Dick novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?'. I will NOT talk about that film which has soo little regard for it's source material that it is a joke.

I kinda like doing pictures based on characters which only appear in text form in a novel or book as you kinda have a degree of free range which what they look like, while you do have some limits. Like many authors who deal more with content, there isn't too MUCH in the way of what she looks like though. Pris (the same Nexus 6 Android Type as Rachael Rosen) is described as being small, with a small face, small breasts, big hair which makes her face look even smaller but head big, and she has dark hair.. I took the dark hair to be a mid-tone brown, but probably should have done a darker brown but didn't want to do black. One reason for not doing black is as I was working on the colouring, I noticed the hair was too much like another character who has black hair and I didn't want it too look like I was ripping-off someone else's design.

Anyway. This is from her first appearance where co-main character John Isidore finds out someone else has moved into the building he is living in alone and she answers the door, very nervous and only wearing pyjama bottoms. She has escaped being treated like a disposable slave, looking to the dying earth for freedom, only to find her kind and friends hunted down and killed without remorse. At this point, she doesn't even know if anyone else from her group of friends is still alive. She gives a nervous smile. Really, the book does a great job at showing how poorly these poor androids are treated, by people who claim to almost worship life, even when that life is an android sheep (animals play a major part, as you can tell from the title).

Not completely happy with this image but... for a quickie, it's not BAD persay...
